Cadets Fly With Air Force Reserve C-17 Squadron
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Nearly 100 Cadets from squadrons all across southern California took part in a training flight sponsored by the US Air Force Reserve.  Three members from Escondido Cadet Squadron 714 were in attendance.  The two-hour flight, courtesy of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing based out of March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, CA, gave Cadets a feel for what it's like to be a part of the aircrew for one of the largest aircraft in the
United States' inventory.  The two-hour flight departed from March Air Reserve Base and traveled south towards San Diego county, across to Catalina Island, and then back up the coast to the base.  Those in attendance got to witness the aircraft be refueled in mid-air, from the cockpit!  Special thanks to the commander of March ARB Composite Squadron 45, Captain Dave Goude, for making this possible!  A photo album for this activity can be found in our photo gallery above.
